Paris to Geneva - 18 September 2011

Bee For Battens are pleased to announce a cycle adventure that will be sure to fulfill the expectations of amatuer and professional cyclists alike whilst rasing funds for a great cause.

This challenging ride covers 540km in four days to link together these two wonderful cities. The cycle begins by following the river Seine out of Paris and into a gentle undulating landscape dotted with medieval towns and villages.

Gradually this landscape gives way to the vineyards of Burgundy as we pass through the famous wine towns of Chablis and Beaune. Our last days cycle is both the most spectacular and the most challenging as we enter the mountainous Jura region. Immediately the landscape becomes wilder and less cultivated as we begin to climb and enter the national park.

The highlight of our trip is tackling the Col de La Faucille, which has featured in the Tour de France 41 times and is 1232 metres. Of course there is a great sense of achievement to completing this climb but it also offers two further rewards. The first is the spectacular views of Lake Geneva below, framed by Mont Blanc. The second is the wonderful descent that ultimately brings us all the way to the shores of the lake and the city centre and the end of a truly memorable ride.

Due to the challenging nature of this tour there will be one cycling guide per ten cyclists as well as at least one back up van. Snacks, lunches and all dinners are included in the tour, so you can fully concentrate on the task at hand!

A wonderful tour is guaranteed!!
